Care & Use

Watch Cases

With regular use, your leather watch case will develop a natural patina as it absorbs the natural oils from your skin. This is one of the reasons why full-grain leathers are a great choice for watch cases, as it does not require any extra care with regular use. However, if your watch case is not being used regularly, the leather may dry out. To keep your case looking its best, we recommend the following:

  1. Clean your watch case with a soft cloth dampened with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents as they can damage the leather.
  2. If your watch case is not in use, store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or heat, as this can cause the leather to crack.
  3. To maintain the suppleness of the leather, you may want to use a leather conditioner from time to time. Apply the conditioner sparingly with a soft cloth and buff the leather gently.
Camera Straps

Using your leather camera strap regularly will keep it supple as it absorbs natural oils from your skin. This means that you don't need to do anything extra to care for your strap. However, if you're not using it often, the leather may dry out.

To keep your camera strap in excellent condition, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Clean your camera strap gently with a soft cloth dampened with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents that can harm the leather.
  2. Store your camera strap in a dry, cool place when you're not using it. Exposure to direct sunlight or heat without use can cause the leather to crack.
  3. To keep your leather supple, you can use a leather conditioner occasionally. Use a soft cloth to apply a small amount of conditioner and buff the leather gently.
Italian Full-Grain Nappa Leather

Avoid exposing your leather item to water, direct sunlight, and heat sources as they can damage the leather. If your item gets wet, pat it dry with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry away from direct heat.

For stains, use a damp soft cotton cloth to gently rub the surface and dry it for a short time in the sun or a blower.

If the leather seems dry, apply a colorless leather cream periodically to clean and moisturize the leather. Rub it gently into the leather in a circular motion using a soft cloth. When not in use, store your item in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.

Italian Vegetable Tanned Buttero Leather

Italian Vegetable tanned Buttero leather is a unique leather that develops a beautiful patina over time. As it has no coating or finish applied, it can scratch easily. Therefore, it's important to handle and store it with care to maintain its appearance.

Although not necessary, Buttero leather can be polished using a horse hair brush to keep it looking its best. If the leather becomes dry, a natural oil such as olive, neatsfoot, or mink can be used to condition it. It's important to use these oils sparingly, as veg tan leather easily absorbs liquids, and over-conditioning the leather can affect its appearance and texture.

To care for your Buttero leather item, avoid exposing it to water, direct sunlight, and heat sources. If it gets wet, let it naturally dry in gentle sunlight. For stains, use a damp cotton cloth to gently rub the surface and dry it in the sun or with a blower. When not in use, store your item in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat source.

Italian Waterproof Suede

Italian Waterproof Suede is made from the underside of the skin, giving it a soft and brushed texture that makes it perfect for cushioned linings. Despite being waterproofed, it's best to avoid direct contact with water as it can absorb liquids over time.

To care for your Italian Waterproof Suede item, gently dab the surface with a damp soft cotton cloth for stains, and then dry it for a short time in the sun or with a blower. Avoid exposing your suede item to direct sunlight and heat sources as they can damage the material. When not in use, store your item in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
